Old Port!!

We finally made it to Old Port, and couldn't have picked a better way, weather-wise. A cool, foggy, and rainy morning gave way to sunny mid-eighties weather.
I was impressed with Old Port. There's a really nice toy store there, and plenty of places to eat seafood and sushi. However, a cruise ship had docked and Old Port was filled with cruise-shoppers. The cruise ship was amazing to look at, though! No.way.in.hell I'd get on it, though. No way! If I have to get on a boat, it needs to be a smallish one. Just saying that a boat bigger than the state of Rhode Island is not my cup of tea. Rudi said that he wanted to go on one really bad, but there have been many times that I've wanted him to go on an airplane really bad, so he'll just have to suck it :) I'm definitely in for a whale-watching trip, and they have sailboat trips that look fun. But cruise ship? Um, no.
As we were leaving, we passed through the arts district. We were confused at to where the arts district was, and thought we had been through it already on our jaunt about Old Port. Obviously it's where the locals hang out when cruise ships dump thousand of passengers into Old Port! We'll definitely have to make another trip and take it all in. Seemed like a pretty hip area.
The funny thing is, we stopped in one of those import stores almost immediately after arriving in Old Port, and happened upon these really warm fleece-lined wool hats. I got one for myself (my last wool hat was devoured by moths, so I was seriously in need of one) and the girls each got one in the shape of an animal. They loved their hats SO much that they wore them around town! In 80+ degree weather! Whole groups of women would just giggle at them. They were pretty stinkin' cute, I'll admit!
Tomorrow is supposed to be a little chilly, so no beach for us. I figure we need to continue working on unpacking. We're really losing steam! It's so frustrating when we find that, for some reason or another, we can never seem to get any one room completely done! None of us have dressers, so that poses a problem. I don't like basements, so I generally have some stuff that I need to go down there, but Rudi never does it. Then there's just the stuff that we simply don't know what to do with.
Oh, and we're three mice down. Don't know how many more we have, but hopefully the traps will keep working. I am not 100% sure, but Ginger may have also gotten one last night. All I know is, I heard squeaking in the middle of the night.
