Riley and Avery

Riley started swimming lessons a week ago yesterday.  They are very serious about their swimming here.  Riley was *thisclose* to completing level 3 in Colorado Springs, but the standards are a lot more strict here. 
The very first lesson they wanted the level 3 kids to jump into the 12 foot water and tread water indefinitely in the middle of the pool.  Yeah, that was not cool with Riley at all!  It had been a year since her last swimming lesson, so that probably had a part in it.  She was bumped down to level 2 with one other boy, so only two in the class.  She seems to like her instructor a little too well, though, because she goofs around a lot with him!  A lot of the instructors here tend to be more like coaches, many not even getting in the water with the kids.  I guess they are a little more serious about swimming here since this area is mostly water, and the opportunities for kids to swim in areas that are not lifeguarded are frequent.  Oh, well!  As long as Riley is happy and learning!
