Happy 7th, Riley!

Wow, Riley's growing up fast!  She's just maturing so much!  She carries herself like a big girl, talks like a big girl (although that's not new at all!).  Her poise is maturing, and her rhetoric is too.  I wish she didn't want to get her ears pierced, because that is certainly adding to the general air of grown-upness.  When in a good mood, she's easy on the eyes; when in a bad mood, she's terrible to behold.  She is so willing to help now, rather than being an instigator (usually).  Ah, my girl is seven!

She had her birthday party at Oak Street Studios in Portland.  The instructor was so organized and managed to keep the kids going.  I think because the kids are all school friends, they were used to working together, and everything went smoothly.  Some moms stayed behind, so I was able to talk to them and get to know them better, which was a blast.  Avery was attached to Rudi, so he was stuck at the table with her on his lap, which really was probably comforting for him, excusing him from having to socialize with strangers :)  I just can't say enough about the art studio.  I think this may be a place we come back to for parties, for sure.  All the kids had a blast.  They offer regular art classes, but they are way out of our price range.  Maybe if we win the lottery, or get an abnormally large tax refund :)

And some old ones of my little big girl!!
