Skating

I'm breaking skating and swimming into two posts so it doesn't get too long!

Riley was quite surprised by how difficult roller skating is! Seriously, no exaggeration, it was like a cartoon, Riley trying to skate. It was sooooo funny. Rudi trying to skate was hilarious too. He could barely stand. Avery was content on the carpet and would not, under any circumstances, go on the rink. To Riley's credit, though, she didn't give up. They have learn-to-skate classes that we'll take her to. There's not sessions or commitments, just show up to the lesson. I was okay on the skates, but haven't skated in traditional skates in probably 20+ years. It's been probably about 10-15 since I've been on rollerblades. I think I would have done better on rollerblades, but they are more expensive to rent, so I went for the traditional.

What a picture of my butt, you say? Because I have no shame and Rudi says that my butt is getting flabby. Oh, well.

Avery won these tickets all by herself and she was really proud of herself!

We bought summer passes for the skating rink, but doubt that Rudi and Avery will go again. It can be a mommy and Riley thing, which we definitely need! Regular admission is $6 per person, but the passes were $5 to buy and then only $2 per person to skate after that. Good all summer.

Perhaps the more I skate the less flabby by butt will become...
